Divine Design

Thank you for your prayers for this year's FTS retreat. Three students made decision and many rededicated their lives to the Lord. Despite having his hard drive crashed right before the second message, God really spoke through teacher John Ko to help everyone understand the Gospel clearer. PTL! We look forward to next year's FTS retreat!

We had 48 children and 16 teachers all together and it was one eventful retreat throughout, but we are so thankful for the safety of everyone and of course for three children that made salvation decisions. B was crying a lot after the message, and asking if she can talk to one of the teachers right away about her decision. When I asked her why she was crying, she said she was really sad about that fact that Jesus had to die for her sins on the cross. After she calmed down and later I asked about her family's religion, she told me how scared she was to tell her mom who is Buddhist about her decision of becoming a christian. She started breaking down because she was so fearful. And yet, she was sure about wanting to become christian. I could also see M trying to change his behavior through the retreat, being really eager to help out and follow instructions. He was recommended by his teacher to win the "Best Citizen" award at the end. If you know M, this is a big change. Also T was listening so intently to the messages and especially during the last message given by John, he was at the edge of his seat and I could see that he was trying soak in everything that teacher John was saying.

Overall, it was a very rowdy bunch this year and it was very hard to contain the kids, but when they were all standing around the camp fire last night memorizing Isaiah 40:21-31, it was really a sight to see. Of course they were not all that confident, but I could tell that most of them tried to memorize the verses and they were following along few of the kids who had the verses memorized pretty well. We have great hopes for all these kids that some day, they will all be able to understand the heart of God and respond accordingly.

Please continue to pray for these kids that they can come out to Joyland and that we can eventually hand them all off to Element!!
